Working principle of excavator traveling transmission.

Excavator travel drive is mainly through the travel motor output torque, drive the travel device rotation, so as to drive the excavator forward or backward. In the transmission system, a travel motor drives one side of the track to travel, and the other side of the track rotates in the opposite direction, thus allowing the excavator to travel forward or backward. Traveling transmission at the same time can adjust the excavator travel speed and direction, in order to match the requirements of different working conditions.

1. Hydraulic travel drive
Hydraulic travel drive is currently used by most excavators travel mode. Its main principle is to convert the hydraulic pump output pressure into torque, through the walking motor to the walking device, thus promoting the excavator forward or backward. Hydraulic traveling transmission is simple in structure, reliable in work, at the same time, it can precisely control the traveling speed and direction, and it runs smoothly, so it is a kind of traveling mode widely used.
2. Mechanical traveling transmission
Mechanical travel drive is a walking mode realized by traditional mechanical transmission. Its main principle is to drive the track movement through the traveling gear box and sprocket, so as to achieve the purpose of pushing the excavator forward or backward. Mechanical traveling transmission does not require high hydraulic system, and has the advantages of simple structure and easy maintenance, but the control of traveling speed and direction is relatively rough.

In the excavator final drive transmission process, the following matters need to be noted:
1. Hydraulic travel drive hydraulic oil needs to be replaced regularly to ensure the normal operation of the system.
2. The tension of the track needs to be checked and adjusted frequently to ensure stable operation of the track.
3. The traveling transmission needs to be adjusted according to different working conditions, and mechanical or hydraulic traveling transmission can be selected according to actual needs.

Excavator traveling transmission is one of the core mechanisms of the excavator, covering two different transmission methods, hydraulic and mechanical. In practical application, it is necessary to choose different traveling methods according to different work requirements, and pay attention to maintenance and repair.
